I got this amp as a partial trade for my Marantz 2285, from original owner, who purchased it in 1977 while stationed in West Germany. He stated that this Sansui was professionally serviced by Hi-Tronics in Ottawa at a cost of $83 in April 2015, and this statement appears to be true, as all functions work as they should, all controls move without static or noises and the amplifier produces clean, warm, musical, life-like, non-fatiguing powerful sound.
The amp is very clean in and out, dust-free and smoke-free.
As AU-6600 model was a predecessor to superb AU-7900, they actually look and sound very similar. It's true they don't build them like this anymore, and the price tag for new units exceeds $2000, when they do.
