Kenwood KA-8006 is identical to Japanese-only Trio KA-9006.
Both were top of the line non-"Supreme" amps during the same period that Kenwood was marketing and selling the highly regarded "Supreme Series" of components.
The build quality is very high, same as Supreme 500 and 600 amps. As a matter of fact, Models 500 and 600 are essentially 8006 upgraded to dual mono and higher power ratings, but with the same circuit design.
It is amazing that mostly because of confusing Kenwood and Kensonic Labs numbering system the KA-6006 (one step below) currently sells for more that KA-8006. The 8006 is a hidden gem, up until now staying well below the radar;
considering the current market for Supreme 500 and 600 ($700-$1400) it should be priced at $550-$600.
Actually that whole line is gold, starting with the lowly 4006;
