NICE SPEAKERS FROM MY STEREO COLLECTION,
WORK AND SOUND AS GOOD AS NEW
X-clean, smoke-free.
All drivers and X-overs are 100% original, and they all work.
New foams were installed, to assure many more years of service . Cabinets are 8/10.
Grilles can be included, just ask (I never listen with the grilles)
Rare model, Made in Canada in 1991.
While Audiosphere Audio Research made a variety of cheap speakers in 80's and 90's, they also produced several memorable 15" and 18" designs, considered "poor man's JBL Pro" at the time, that still sell for several hundred loonies used. This particular model, AX-565 fits in between (third model from the top of the line), and offers 12" performance perfect for loud parties or rock-n-roll listening, just as good and just as loud as Realistic Mach 1. These will also make for great speakers for basement or cottage.
* 8 Ohms, easy to drive
* 28 - 22,000 Hz
* Midrange and treble adjustment controls
* 90 Watts RMS continuous power input, max (that's very loud)
* Recommended amp: 40 - 300 WPC RMS, solid state
(the more, the better for proper speaker control, you just have to be careful not to try to impress your neighbors too much, blowing the tweeters in the process)
* I played them with big professional Cerwin Vega and Phase Linear amps with great results
* 27 x 16 x 12 " and 38 lbs EACH , heavy !
