Near mint, serviced, X-clean in and out, dust-free, smoke-free.
All lights work, all functions work, all controls are noise-free.
All power amp adjustments made, per factory service manual, all power supply capacitors replaced with new genuine Nichicon caps, to ensure many more years of stable operation.

All signal path caps are original (so the authentic sound quality is unaffected), all other parts including the output transistors and lamps are original as well.
That indicates a low mileage unit, very hard to get them like that.
This Tandberg's unique Madagascar Rosewood finish looks totally amazing.
The build quality is top notch, in best traditions of Scandinavian and German amplifier design.
So, how does it sound?
It sounds pretty close to Marantz Model 19, a bit similar to Model 2270 and different from Model 2275.
Different in a better way - tonal balance is always perfect, never shrill, as perfect as it gets.
Its life-like sound is silky smooth even with treble boosted all the way, the richness and depth are both exceptional, the soundstage expands beyond the room.
It runs in class A up to 2 Watts output (normal listening level is 1 Watt, any amp, any speakers), then switches to class B operation.
It's a true high-end unit, even when compared to new boutique stereos selling for $2500-$5000. This comes as no surprise considering that original MSRP of USD $1099 (+tax) in 1975 is equivalent to USD $4770 (+tax) in 2015 dollars.
Canadian price tag was exorbitant of course, 35% higher.

Think again; hearing is believing, newer mass production receivers (even those behemoths from Denon, Yamaha, Onkyo selling for $3000-$4000), cannot touch Tandberg, when music matters.
