Bias voltages adjusted to 9.5 mV L/R, for best sound quality/amp stability.
Original condition, no repairs, power transistors are matched Sanken 2SC1986+2SA771, same batch.
Sansui G-3500 was part of revolutionary Sansui Pure Power series claimed to equal the performance previously only available with separate components.
It was destined to compete directly against Marantz 2226B, with almost identical sound of sweet transparency, very much life-like. There's one significant distinction however, it is not DC coupled like 2226B, it is capacitor coupled like 1060, so where it lacks in ultimate transparency it supersedes in delicate sweetness. Both are great receivers in their own way;
that said, with current market G-3500 is likely a better value.
It is a hi-end receiver in modern terminology, because vast majority of newer hi-fi receivers made after 1981, well, they just do not sound as good, have to buy Bryston receiver or Musical Fidelity to get that kind of sound.
