Cartridge: Original Realistic R9000E LWS integrated headshell/cartridge made by Shure in U*S*A (equivalent to Shure M95)
Needle: sharp, great sounding Shure 70B, also U*S*A-made.
The consensus among audiophiles is that there's no better turntable in this price range, not even close.
Just look at the pictures; the motor alone is industrial grade, built to run many decades.
LAB-500 performs and sounds just as good (if not better) as Marantz 6300 at twice the price (also re-branded, by CEC)

400 and 500 series LAB turntables are notorious for having mats with strong chemical smell, so a zero smell thick mat from another Mitsubishi turntable will be included along with original mat.
