CLASSIC MARANTZ 2245 STEREO RECEIVER * MUSIC AT ITS BEST * in Orleans, Ontario for sale

EXPERTLY SERVICED, CLEAN, EXCELLENT, WORKS AND SOUNDS GREAT. Original output transistors: Motorola SJ2514/SJ2513.
There are folks out there who say their stereos were serviced, yet never touched a soldering station in their lives and cannot tell the difference between speaker wires in blind test.
So, I post nice pictures/description for everyone to see, that vintage can be fun.
This beast was cleaned in and out.
New lamps and new relay were installed. Power switch was replaced (first thing to fail on 2245, 2270, 2230). Rail voltage was set to 35V. DC offset was set to below 1mV L/R, bias voltages were adjusted to 10.5 mV L/R. Cold solder joints were reflowed with fresh solder. Deoxit D5/F5 treatment was done for all electrical connections/switches.
This service takes 5 hours to do. It makes an old receiver sound very close to new.
Repair shops don't have time to to do all that, not at $70/hour.
